Leg Moments Thanks to Wilkinson Sword Hydro Silk Bikini
I’ve never been much of a ‘leg’ girl. Growing up I realised early on that there were parts of me that I left more comfortable covering up than showing off. My battle with body confidence continues, but since living in California, I’ve had to let go of some of those inhibitions to combat the heat.
This coincides with the current social media trend of #Legfie photos that you’ve perhaps seen adorning your Instagram feed. Think holiday snaps by the pool, gloriously tanned legs and ‘that cocktail’. It’s an aspiration, a perfect freeze frame in time of a moment that you wish could last forever. To this note, my favourite moment of 2015 is unquestionably getting married to my best friend in Vegas on July 4th. I’m not usually one for irony, but the joining of a Brit and a American on such a historic day with that kind of meaning, it even made me titter a little. I know that a man doesn’t define a woman, nor am I saying that it’s entirely down to him for raising my confidence, but since being by his side I’ve taken to embrace my body, flaws and all. Discovering that learning to love yourself is a huge step in loving others, my body shaming has only been hindering my personal growth. It’s good to feel comfortable in your own skin, it’s wonderful to throw on that dress you’ve been saving for a special occasion, it’s even better to feel completely gorgeous in it. I still catch myself wishing I had the type of skin that doesn’t mark or bruise as easily, the type of body that can withstand some gentle strain and not leave me with stretch marks, but this is me. Sure my skin’s elasticity is probably the lowest of anyone I know, but that makes me strive all the more to look after myself and come to terms with the way my body is. If I can’t love myself, who will?
This time last year I would never have imagined what was in store for me, and the confidence I have now is unparalleled. Keeping up this confidence is greatly thanks to keeping my legs smooth and silky. Prep work is made all the easier by sloughing off any dead skin, and stimulating the circulation with some exfoliating gloves and picking up the Wilkinson Sword Hydro Silk Bikini. The handy trimmer is brilliant if you’re not a waxing person but like to get close and personal before hitting the beach or taking a dip in the pool. It’s easily adjustable for the type of length you desire, meaning you won’t be dulling your razor as quickly. The 5 blade razor makes for the closest shave and the moisturising serum leaves your legs hydrated for up to 2 hours. There’s even a handy ‘support rester’ so that the head of the blade doesn’t rest on any surface it touches. I hate that sticky residue I usually have to clean off! Simple to use, easy to clean and you don’t even have to hold down the power button to activate the trimmer.
What has been your leg moment of 2015?
