COVERGIRL Outlast Foundation & Lipstick

COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation $11.30 | COVERGIRL Outlast Lipstick $9.80

It feels like every day now there’s a invitation to a wedding popping up in the postbox. With your summer weekends filling up with hours of vows, speeches and toasts, it’s vital your face lasts as long as your banter does. Luckily, I’ve found my ‘glow-to’ brand for long-lasting coverage that doesn’t involve taking out a loan thanks to Influenster and their I Do Voxbox.

Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation in the shade 820 (Creamy Natural) is my first liquid foundation from COVERGIRL. At first I thought the shade might be a little too dark, but with a little buffing and making sure to blend down the neck, it’s a fairly accurate match with my sun-kissed face. California weather most certainly agrees with me! Less is more, as about half a pump covers the entire face. The foundation feels silky to the touch and after making sure to cover essential areas, I noticed how moisturising it was. I went a full day from 6am to 6pm and there was some slight deterioration around my t-zone, and my dry patches weren’t clung to like I expected them to be. I’ve taken to using my Dior primer as a combination and my skin glows radiantly, so those moisturising oils get some serious work. Heating it up on the back of your hand makes the application that much more effortless.

Partner the perfect base with Outlast Longer + Moisture Lipstick, that I received in the gorgeous Red Rouge. The first thing I should point out is the glorious smell that comes as soon as you take off the lid, a mix between berries and body scrub. There’s a slight drag on first applying, but it gets easier with each coat. For something that dries matte, there’s no dehydration. This is coming from a girl who’s lips are permanently parched! I sent the day munching, sipping and talking a LOT, and the colour had worn to a pretty stain. I love that this didn’t wear away like a lot of lipsticks do, so I’ll be investing in a nude shade that I can wear daily. My husband loved the shade, and it barely transferred. So that’s a huge plus as a married couple that don’t want to look like they’ve been sucking face for hours on end when all they wanted was a quick ‘peck’.

What helps you #GlowtheDistance? Have you tried any of the COVERGIRL Outlast products? I’ve got my fingers crossed for a matching concealer!

Get #NanoBlurred with Indeed Labs Nanoblur

Indeed-Labs-Nanoblur-On Indeed-Labs-Nanoblur
Indeed Labs Nanoblur | $19.99

As a lifelong fan of Hydraluron (or more specifically: Indeed Labs), when I received Nanoblur in my I Do Voxbox from Influenster, I was more than a little excited. This little tube claims to correct the appearance of skin aging, so basically all those pesky wrinkles, fine lines and even enlarged pores. My pores have never been so much of a ‘deal-breaker’ for me, but fast approaching my 30’s has left me investing in more preventative skincare. The consistency of Nanoblur is similar to an intensive primer, and dries within seconds. Once dry it leaves behind an even surface, and looks surprisingly taunt and fresh. The light scent associated with the serum is slightly medicinal, but I actually enjoy it.

Makeup-free days have been made much more comfortable with a few dots around my eyes, chin and forehead. I tend to sweep on a little concealer, tap Nanoblur on top and finish with a touch of powder. My skin looks radiant afterward, almost air-brushed and lasts all day. I’m still getting to grips with using it with liquid foundation, as it’s unlike any other product in my beauty arsenal.

The best thing I've discovered about Nanoblur is using a small amount over lips to create the perfect base for long-lasting lipstick. It’s smooth, leaves vibrant colour and re-application through the day is minimal. I like to mix up how to get #NanoBlurred, what do you suggest?

Beach Bag Essentials

With my Vegas trip in full swing, I’m all about what’s in my beach bag. I always pack way too much and I had to drastically reduce that for this trip. My return flight has a no baggage policy and I’m staying for 10 days so that means essentials only! I can already hear my inner ‘beauty’ goddess crying out for all my lotions and potions. My tips for packing light for a day at the beach, by the pool or in the desert are to choose multifunctional items.

Gone are the days where I’d bring along a bikini for every day of the week. I find investing in one staple piece is so much more beneficial, and means you can style it up with accessories, giving yourself a fresh look each day for a fraction of the price and effort! I’m enthralled by the Naja Taylor Crisscross Monokini, as it’s not only made from recycled plastic (hello, added buoyancy anyone? No...) but it’s got such a daring silhouette. Paired with a simple white coverup that doubles as an evening dress, and you’ve got an outfit that can last days with the right necklace or pair of sunnies.

I’ve reached an age in my life where I’m not constantly fussing over making sure I have a full face of makeup at all times. Relaxing by the water calls for the super minimal, and the only thing I tend to wear still is mascara. Investing in a quality waterproof mascara means you can go swimming and sweat away in the midday heat without fear of looking like a horror movie extra.

Lastly, among the soothing spray lotions, hair ties and Lena Dunham novel, is my secret ingredient to feeling sexy while sunning it up. Nothing beats taking a travel vial of your favourite perfume and giving yourself a spritz throughout the day. Not only will it leave you perfectly fragranced, it’s like an ego boost in spray form. It works wonders for me, and I tell anyone I can about doing the same, you’d be surprised when you’re turning heads all because of that extra little spring in your step.

Do you have something you have to pop in your bag to perk you up?
