Beauteque Beauty Bags
I’m jetting off on an impromptu trip to Vegas with the fiancé for our friends 30th birthday. It’s going to be crazy hot, somewhere up in the high 30s, which means looking after my skin. I tan well, but am prone to sunburn if I don’t prepare with vigilance. When I found out the Beauteque Beauty Bag for June was all about Aloe, it was like some divine sign that I had to have it in my life.
The BB Bag is a monthly subscription service that gives you an electric mix of 7 - 8 full size products from both Eastern and Western cultures. What drew me in was that it wasn’t all just makeup and skincare, but they also offer fashion and lifestyle products too. I can sense these being wonderful gifts for family and friends, as everything is so different than what you can pick up in store.
My mother introduced me to the benefits of aloe products, hailing them her ‘skin saviour’ when it came to her psoriasis. It wasn’t long before I was using them myself as they soothed my dry skin unlike anything else I could get my hands on. Who doesn’t like a plant that gives them a healthy does of vitamins A, B, C and E? The first thing I spotted were the sheet masks, having never tried them in the past. I’ve already used one, but will be popping the other in the fridge for a bit before I use it as an extra treat. I’ve been using the Aloe Soothing Gel as a nourishing cleanser, buffing my skin with the Silicon Massage Pad and removing any ‘ingrained’ dirt that manages to escape my usual routine. The Nature Republic Smoothing Aloe Emulsion had me confused at first, but after replacing my nighttime moisturiser, this has worked wonders to keep any ‘bags’ at bay. The Nature Republic Body Cream will be a staple after the shower in the hot desert, as my skin is prone to cracking even in normal temperatures. Plus, I smell good enough to eat afterwards! Finishing up with the Welcos Aloe Vera Smoothing Gel Mist has been the best of the bunch. Not only is it great as a ‘pick-me-up’ after a day in the sun, but I can’t get enough of this in my hair. it tames fly aways, injects some much needed moisture back in and smells incredible to boot.
Signing up is a quick and easy process, with subscriptions ranging from month to month at $24 or reducing in price for an entire year at just $22 a bag. I’ve tried out a fair few subscription services over the years, and this is the only one I’ve felt gives you such good bang for your buck as everything is full size. I’m already wondering what will be in next months bag, as I’m excited to try out some makeup samples from brands I’d otherwise not be introduced to.
