Guest Post - My Clutch Bag Essentials

My Clutch Essentials

While I'm away, I've rounded up a few of my lovely blogger friends to keep you in the know about various beauty must-haves and tricks! Todays post comes from the wonderful Tamira from The Guilty Girl who talks about the essential products to pop in your clutch from day to day.

As we get closer to Christmas party season, I thought it was about time I upped my 'going out' game. Long evenings in pubs I can do, but it's been quite some time since I put on my highest of high heels and gladrags to paint the town red, know what I mean? Mid-twenties, there's really no excuse and - enter my beautiful new lilac Whistles leather clutch - I'm now making a conscious effort to be party ready at the drop of a hat. You're only young once, right?

This clutch is just about big enough for my iPhone, debit cards, ID and a little loose change along with a very select few products, so making the cut is a pretty big deal. For any base top ups or mishaps, I've stashed my Nars Creamy Concealer in Vanilla, which is my holy grail for unsightly bags or blemishes, whatever the damage. I've also popped in my Hourglass Brow Arch Sculpting Pencil in Soft Brunette because those babies need to stay in check - nothing spoils a selfie quicker than a dishevelled brow. For eyeliner emergency touch-ups I've picked out the Eyeko Skinny Liner in Black which takes any guesswork out of lining my eyes - when it comes to this stuff, I am pretty much a n00b. Rounding off the pack is the brilliant Chantecaille Faux-Ils Mascara, a mascara so good that I couldn't decide if I wanted to blog about it or not, maybe just keep this one to myself a little... I think the tweet I posted immediately after first application of this was something along the lines of 'my eyelashes look like they just had sex with a rock star'. If that doesn't tell you what you need to know…

I like a little metallic shimmer on the eyes for Autumn, and nothing makes me quite as happy as the L'Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow in Amber Rush - this stuff is effortless, glowy, beautiful. It'll make your eyes pop, and instantly brightens up the whole area and makes you look more awake. No complaints here! Finishing up, the Revlon Lip Butter formulas are second to none in terms of pigment and moisture, and nobody has time for cracked, high-maintenance lips at the office party. I've opted for Raspberry Pie which has that whole juicy berry shade thing down. Another essential? Rollerball perfume. The sooner England twigs on to this American revelation the better. I've gone for Elizabeth and James Nirvana White, because it's feminine, sexy, with a beautiful musk base note which makes it nice and light - an easy wear. This is also really lovely to layer with Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir, but that's a story for another night and another handbag.

What are your clutch bag essentials?
