Fresh Faced and Ready For Action

Fresh-Faced-and-Ready-For-Action

Having turned 27 last month, I'm beginning to notice all the anti-aging lotions and potions on the shelves. I don't have wrinkles or sagging skin just yet, but it's better to be prepared for those inevitabilities of growing older and combat them for as long as possible. It's with this in mind that I've taken to a little routine with my makeup and skincare products that I thought I'd share with you all.

After applying my moisturiser of choice (I'm quite partial to the new offering from Hydraluron at the moment), I've been reaching for The Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Reviver*. This not only smells like freshly squeezed oranges, but works to enhance your natural skin. Containing Community Fair Trade Brazilnut Oil, the nourishing benefits can be felt from the smallest 5p sized amount. It feels so smoothing that I tend to use this as a primer, letting my skin do the work for once. To perk up my tired and heavy eyes! the Vichy Idealia Eyes* is so easy to apply and sinks in with no problems at all. Paired with the Vichy Idealia Serum and you have a very powerful twosome! This has been a real lifesaver, especially as I've been going out on more than a few school nights recently, and I certainly don't want it to show. The application is unlike most I've seen, and comes out a padded foot that's a breeze to smooth all over the sensitive skin under your eyes.

I can't truly achieve a youthful look without a decent CC cream, and I've been trialling Supergoop for size. The colour correction from the tube to blending is quite impressive and really hides any discolouring and problem areas that I want to disguise. My trusty Dior Glow Maximiser makes a fairly recurrent appearance here. A dab along the cheekbones, down the bridge of my nose and on my cuspids bow and I tend to look much more alert. I like to keep my eye makeup minimal when I'm cheating my age, so I pair Benefit Stay Don't Stray with Lush Dynamic Liquid Eyeliner* for staying power and just a hint if peachy shine. I blend with my fingers for imperfect perfection and light apply a little mascara. Eyeliner need not apply! To complete the look, I feel nude lips can look beautiful if treated correctly. So a generous helping of Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm* perks them up, removing any flakiness and plumping them out.

All of this in about 5 minutes too, so a few extra snoozes of the alarm in the morning. That'll certainly help improve your inner glow!
