The warm weather might seem like a distant memory right now, but it's still the height of summer and time to get thinking about the ultimate summer experience. When New Look got in touch with me to talk about what I'd do for my ideal holiday and then to take a quiz to find out if it matched up, I knew I had to give it a go. I only recently booked my holiday for the year, not actually planning to go anywhere at all. I'll be flying out to Tallahassee, Florida at the end of October until mid November, spending Halloween with some of the wonderful Florida State University people I met this summer in Oxford. It might not be the warmest, but it'll be better than rain in Blighty!
If I were to plan my ultimate summer experience, at this point in my life it would be something I'd like to tell my children about some day. Ideally I'd like to do a backpack trip across Europe, taking in the culture from places like Prague, Amsterdam and Germany. Getting to go to all the little cafes and market stalls I missed out on when I was younger and more interested in doing the 'tourist' based activities. I've still yet to do a full weekend at a festival, so fitting Benicassim in during that time would be something I'd make an exception for. I had tickets to Coachella for last year, but ended up having to sell them on as I was going to be camping in the Vegas desert by myself! Or, I'd be really adventurous and rent an old convertible in the US of A and do the whole length of route 66. This is on my bucket list and I can't wait to finally put it to reality.
After taking the quiz, I was given Barbados as my destination. Being an introvert, I tend to shy away from social interaction to recharge my batteries, so the mix of lively carnivals with outgoing locals and secluded beaches with calm clear waters actually makes me quite envious of not booking my holiday there! The fashion is spot on with the Tribal trend featuring heavily. Optical illusion swimsuits, sheer kimonos and chunky monotone wedges are all things I'd be sporting on the crystal white sands of one of the coolest places on the planet. Oxymoron fully intended. All in all, it's not a Euro trip with a festival, but I wouldn't say no to chilling with a cocktail in hand and watching the sun go down!
I'm going to tag the lovely Tamira to have a go at this, and see if she gets similar results! If you want to have a go at what New Look thinks your ultimate summer experience is for yourself, you can take the quiz below:
