Seeing your name on a bottle of shampoo doesn't get much more exciting for a beauty blogger, and I admit that I did a little gasp of delight when a stunningly thought out package arrived on my doorstep. Concoction should be the brand name on everyones lips come the summer, with their mixology technology for couture haircare, I'm surprised I hadn't heard of it before! Here's the skinny; choose a shampoo base to suit your hair type (Lemon Verbena, Bakhour, Rosemary & Mint or Black Pepper Citrus) and mix with your choice of 2 shot boosts of essential actives, extracts and vitamins to suit your needs. There are currently 8 superserum shots available to mix in with the base shampoo which means there's a shocking 256 unique combinations to try out.
I received the Black Pepper Citrus base*, the Cashmere & White Lily conditioner* and two serum shots to mix with. The Gimme More Moisture Superserum* shot gives an intensive moisture surge with Argan Oil and Shea Butter to nourish and refresh dry and damaged hair. Perfect for me when I'm having an unenviable problem with dull and frizzy hair! The other shot was the ever soothing Back To Your Roots Superserum* that contains Aloe Vera and Acai Fruit extracts that calm and soothe the scalp, and ideal pair in my eyes! I popped the seal on the shots, drained the contents into my shampoo bottle, replaced the cap and gave it a good shake. I really loved the process of creating my own 'cocktail' of a shampoo and was even more impressed when it lathered up like a dream in the shower. Not only is it paraben and silicone free, but it also contains an ionic system to help battle frizz, static and tangling. A few minutes with the conditioner, which smelt how I imagine heaven to smell like, and my hair was soft, silky and manageable. I even got compliments on how glossy it looked without prompts to the new haircare routine I'd set in place. I'm even taken aback that, a few days down the line, my hair is still going strong and without any greasy buildup or it sinking back into old habits; it still looks amazingly fresh and revived!
The best part about all of this? Each personalised Concoction costs a mere £14. That's your choice of base blend and two superserums that you can choose to suit your year-round haircare needs. I know I'll be picking up a Lemon Verbena with Thermo-Straight Superserum and a Beautiful Brunette Superserum for the summer. If you wanted the conditioner it's £16 and will be a definite re-purchase from me on scent alone. It's hard to find a set of shampoo and conditioner that work with my sensitive scalp and after just a few uses I'm already considering Holy Grail status.
Concoction is available at www.concoction.co.uk with worldwide shipping or at BeautyBay.com, BeautyMART at Harvey Nichols, Topshop Oxford Street and Boxpark, Debenhams Oxford Street and Selfridges.com. Concoction also have an Indiegogo project currently running, donations as little as £5 will help them toward their goal of launching into a more varied selection of stores. So go help them out, you'll be glad you did!

The last time I bought a can of Impulse I was 14 years old and would use up most of a can in one outing. I've never really been able to shake that image of Impulse being a fragrance for young teenagers, but I have taken to keeping a can on my desk at work for a refresh during the day.
Impulse Be Surprised* is a scent inspired by the orient, the first of its kind for the Impulse range. An exotic mix of violets and red fruits which makes for a fairly musky, deep scent that reminds me of long nights in the summer sun. Top notes of pepper and red fruits with base notes drawing from cedar wood and patchouli. It's the first scent from Impulse that I would happily tote around in my bag on a night out as it's a much more grown up than I would have initially given it credit for. Slightly woody and masculine, this is the kind of fragrance I gravitate toward when choosing a perfume.
Impulse Be Surprised retails at £1.99 as is available in stores nationwide.

You're probably sick of hearing about how awesome #OxMeet was, but here's a little vlog of the day for those that couldn't attend. I'm hoping to put on another either later this year or early next year, but in the meantime I reckon a couple of cocktail nights might be in order!

When I hear Hotel Chocolat, the first thing I think about is their mouth watering chocolates, and their hotel and restaurant combinations. So when I was approached to try their beauty range I had to do a little investigating as I hadn't even realised these was one! Only a few days later and I was accepting a package full of the most gorgeous delights any beauty blogger would be head over heels to receive.
The Hotel Chocolat Cocoa Juvenate Shower Creme* £16 was first out of the beautifully packaged bag. A quick sniff and you're instantly hit with the enveloping aroma of cocoa, shea butter and coconut oil which is intensely hedonistic. I love the musky after smell and one use of this in the shower left my skin soft as silk and the scent lingered for hours after. All the ingredients sport different benefits, but I loved the addition of Rice Germ oil for anti-oxidant protection and Argan Oil, sourced from a cooperative in Morocco, to nourish the skin. As I was coming to the end of my coveted Korres Sandalwood Bodywash it's a welcome addition to my shower.
Following up from the same range is the Hotel Chocolat Cocoa Juvenate Body Butter* £21, a thick, opulent cream rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Open the tub and you can really smell the bergamot (personal favourite), green tea, lime, exotic florals and warm sandalwood. It's like this body butter was created just for me! I do like my more musky fragrances and this goes a long way to ticking that particular box. Not really one to moisturise after a bath or shower, I've found myself actively pulling this from the shelf and applying liberally all over. The pair go together so nicely and I love that this is an alternative from really fruity products that are littering the high street at the moment.
Bath time hasn't been abandoned in this set either, with a stunning selection of heavily fragranced candles that I can see myself repurchasing once I've burnt though my current stash. The Hotel Chocolat Cocoa Juvenate Treatment Candle* £30 is a masculine dream! When I read the ingredients I wasn't sure I was going to get on with the scent, but on lighting it leaves the room lightly fragranced with a bouquet of spiced white florals, on a base of musk, sandalwood and leather. Inspired by the scents of the cocoa groves around the Cocoa Juvenate Spa in St Lucia, once lit I can almost feel the warm summer breeze on my cheeks. If you want luxury at it's finest, this candle has to be top of the list, and with 30-50 hours worth of burn time you're sure to see this last you through some warm spring nights.
Lastly, I've saved a real gem in the form of a perfume that will bring the entire range together. The Hotel Chocolat Cocoa Juvenate Eau De Parfum* £47 just looks so entirely beautiful that I'm looking forward to clearing my vanity dresser to give it pride of place! As it's from the Cocoa Juvenate range, it pulls from the same base notes and throws in some roasted cocoa for good measure. If you like your scents on the warming side, I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Once more, I thought I wasn't going to like it from the description but after a couple of minutes of wear on my pulse points I'm singing a different tune! I've made plans to use this more for long summer nights and pair it with my newly purchased Chloé perfume for during the day. I feel they compliment each other well as they are on fairly opposite ends of the spectrum but share that same musky undertone.
A huge thank you to Hotel Chocolat for putting this set together for me, I feel well and truly pampered! What do you think of the Cocoa Juvenate range?

Next week I'll be on holiday! Unfortunately I don't have the funds to be jetting off anywhere exotic, but I am going to be having some much needed rest, a little bit of family time and I've even planned with Tamira to have dinner and drinks. With this in mind, I've been musing on the perfect girly dinner date outfit and have come up with a wish list that I might have to invest in for next Thursday.
I've been obsessed with florals recently, and trying to think of new ways to inject them into what I wear, so this Floral Chiffon Bomber Jacket is something I could wear with my jeans or a pair of heels. Over this gorgeous printed t-shirt, I think this is quite an interesting and fresh way to wear the trend, and the material on this t-shirt is actually floral embossed which is such a lovely touch. An inject of muted neon in the form of the G21 Vibrant Waffle Textured Midi Skirt offsets the fairly mono-tone way the outfit is leaning toward. Paired with these adorable Pointed Toe Stilettos in an eye-catching pink and finished up with this classy Crochet Panel Clutch to further play with the texture.
I'm loving some of the fashion pieces in George at Asda at the moment. I pretty much crack out my fox print shirt on a weekly basis, and always make sure I drop in when in Milton Keynes. I'll be snapping all these items up for my date with T, but what would you wear for a dinner date?

A couple of weeks ago now, #OxMeet happened. I'd spent months planning, organising brands and finding some wonderful beauty bloggers to attend. The day came, the goody bags were packed, the girls were made up in their best beauty attire and Wagamama was calling our names!
