The start of the week saw me creating an Anti-Valentine's Makeup look, but I thought it seemed only fair to create one for all the love day enthusiasts! Instead of going the pink and fluffy route, I've gone for a bit of edge and sparkle. This is utterly wearable, turns heads and is just what you need to impress your beau, date or the guy you saw at the supermarket.
As we're going all out with the eyes, keeping the base simple is more important than much else. A mix of a BB Cream, heavy duty concealer and a hint of powder make for the ideal base for this look. Add a hint of colour to the cheeks with a tint rather than a powder or cream. Define the brows, highlight the underside and tip the hat to your cupids bow in the same way. Using a dark and precise liner, line the top lashes and then grab a black kohl pencil and do the same to the water line, smudging outward. Using a gold glitter pot, tap the product under the eye, fanning out and down, gradually picking up less glitter as you go. Now to give your lashes a curl and apply several coats of mascara to both the top and bottom lashes. To finish, a helping of your go-to red lipstick blotted out with a clean finger will diffuse the colour and take off the harsh edge. I used the same technique as my Blurred Lips post, which compliments the faded sparkle perfectly.
For the hair: part in the centre, backcomb until you can see a lions mane forming, and smoulder!
If you're looking for something to brighten up your evening, this look might just be the thing. I know I'll be using it on my next date night, and will even experiment with different colours. Clash of purple, anyone?

The gold and red lips combo is very classic, but I like the way that you did something unexpected with it by popping gold underneath the eyes instead on the lids. I also think that that blurred lips technique really suited the look well, because it took the edge off of the red lips and really let the eyes shine.
