Save The Blow Dry, £14.95*

I try to limit myself to only washing my hair 2-3 times a week, so the rest of the time I'm doomed to trying to keep my hair dry with a mixture of hairbands, clips and scrunchies. I'm not usually a shower cap kinda gal, but when offered the opportunity to try Save The Blow Dry, I wondered whether it was time to start.

There's no disputing that my hair was bone dry and still styled how I liked it upon exiting the shower, and there was plenty of room even for my thick hair. The pattern isn't to my taste, but I'm hoping they bring out a line of different patterns and colours, making it much more universally friendly. I'm just not really a pink person! The towelling at the centre soaks up the humidity and condensation while showering, while the plastic outer does a good job of splashing the majority of water back down the plug. My only issue would be trying to use a cleanser while wearing it, the ruffles are a little inhibiting but nothing that pushing them back can't solve.

Before using I'll brush out my hair, preferably with a Tangle Teezer as putting as little tension on my hair as possible is a top priority. I'll either use a loose hair tie or a clasp to make sure that it stays up and in the hair cap, and then tuck in any loose ends that may have strayed down my back or along my forehead. One of the other features Save The Blow Dry boasts is using the cap reversed to intensify a hair treatment mask. I've yet to try this, but I reckon it could be the perfect step with a relaxing bath at the end of a long day. I've been so impressed that it's become a permanent fixture in my routine and is gentle on my hair, leaving me much more relaxed about my alopecia.

The mere £14.95 price tag even factors in that Save The Blow Dry have partnered up with Khandel Light, a charity that improves the lives of the communities in and around Khandel, Rajasthan, India. Buying the cap from the website funds 2 weeks worth of safe drinking water. So not only will you look good, but you'll feel good too.

    1. Haha, I feel your pain! I would use all kinds of hair bands and clips, all for the back ends to dip and leave me frizzy haired and annoyed.

  3. I'm contemplating shower caps since I'm trying not to wash my hair as often, the ones I have used before though always make it so flat.

    1. I think I only ever used one other before, and it was a cheap thing that really didn't do my hair any justice. This I can do!

  11. I never blow dry my hair as I prefer to let it dry naturally. The cap would be great for me as it would keep my wet hair out of my way!

    1. I rarely do as well. I find though that I've been doing it more recently as I was getting into the bad habit of sleeping with wet hair and making myself feel worse by the morning.

  13. Ooh I like the look of this! I love pink anyway so the colour wouldn't be a problem, but I've never thought of having a shower hat with a towel inside - genius idea! xx

    1. I know, right? It's crazy that I never thought to bung a flannel into one of my old shower caps, it makes sense when you logically think it through!

  15. I would probably use this for deep conditioning, sometimes towels are too heavy to keep on all day! :)
