Maybelline Fit Me Range

Fit Me Foundation, £7.99  Fit Me Concealer, £5.99  Fit Me Powder, £5.99

Whilst browsing for a new foundation, I came across the Fit Me range by Maybelline. Not only did the packaging stand out, but the concept intrigued me. A range of makeup based off the tone of your skin that you pair with other tone based products to create a flawless finish? I was sold.

Using their chart and swatching all the while, I decided on shade 125 in the foundation, with told me I should use 15 in the concealer and 125 in the powder. I don't think it's still entirely the right shade for me, but it's as close as I could match it. My skin is odd and I don't think lends itself to neither cool nor warm, I am perhaps neutral, but I would love to find out if this really is the case.

I had these products in my 'to be tested' pile for the longest time before I decided to have an experiment. The foundation made a really smooth base, on the lighter side of coverage but considering the application it could be built up easily and the other products are meant to add another dimension. It doesn't contain waxes or fillers, so your natural skin tone shines through, without the imperfections.

The concealer I wasn't entirely sure on, it was quite watery, difficult to blend and didn't stand the test of time. The powder was the clear winner for me, a light, quite finely milled product that left me looking glowing without any unnecessary build up or caking throughout the day. I've used this powder to set my makeup ever since and been thoroughly impressed at how it doesn't alter my base colour but adds a wonderful matte finish.

If you're thinking of purchasing the Maybelline Fit Me range, I'd steer clear of the concealer and invest in something with a little more durability. Opt for the powder if you only try one thing, I can't fault it for a drugstore buy, especially when there's so much of it.

  1. I've only tried the concealer from this range and I absolutely love it! No seriously, I've ditched my boi-ing concealer and Bobbi Brown concealer for this one on most days! I've yet to try the powder and foundation tho. xx

    1. I'm starting to wonder if I got a dud concealer as everyone raves about it and it was the one out of the three that I disliked!

  3. I only tried and foundation and I love it, but in the summer it doesn't work for me because my skin gets oily and it's a moisturizing foundation, so I think this is a great foundation for normal and dry skin xx

    1. I did try the foundation again today and realised just how moisturising it feels compared with my go to foundations. I think I have to keep it in rotation for the summer and move to something a little higher coverage in winter.

  5. I have this on my list of products to check out, but maybe I'll hold off. The concealer was my main interest, but you've definitely made me think twice. This was a really helpful review.

    1. I think mine was a dud, I'd still invest as so many people said they like it. I might repurchase and see if it's still the case.

  8. I think I'm neutral too, I'm yellow toned and pink at the same time (said the lady at Illamasqua) although, I'm sure the shade she put on me in the skin base (shade 6) was a bit too dark...I need to go back!

I have tried this foundation but I found the shade I picked up too pink in the end.

    1. I think my shade was too yellow, how funny! Us neutrals have to stick together, Amy. Seems like there isn't actually much for us when it comes to good matches!

    1. How wonderful is it once applied? I can't even see that I've put a powder on, just mattes everything so I don't look too 'dewy'.

  10. I love the review. It's fun because I have read so many good things about the concealer, but not much on the other products. I was actually looking into buying this concealer, but I will reconsider it now :)

    1. I think the whole set works nicely together, so worth spending that extra £6 to get it. Especially as I think the consistency of mine probably wasn't right, as people are telling me.

  11. I haven't tried anything from the Maybelline Fit Me range before. I have heard a bit about the powder but I've been trying to choose between this Fit Me one and the Rimmel Stay matte. I'm not much of a powder person, even though I have combination/oily skin because I find that the Revlon Colourstay foundation stays fine. I'd like to try a powder over the Revlon Nearly Naked though because that one doesn't have the lasting power I need from it.

    1. I find the Rimmel Stay Matte is perhaps too drying for my skin, but that's because I have dry skin so it needs to have a little moisture in it for me. Would be perfect for your skin, I'd imagine. This powder doesn't even feel like you're wearing powder, it's wonderful!

  13. They look great on you! I haven't tried anything from the range... I tend to steer away from drugstore face products because I'm scared they'll break me out! The powder sounds nice though, and you really can't beat the price!

    1. You can't! I find that drugstore foundations are a bit hit and miss but I've got some real gems in my makeup bag. It's been the high end products that have let me down recently! You should invest in the powder, definitely.
