FOTD 02

I thought I'd do another quick Face of the Day post for you guys, seeing as it was quite popular last time. I have a lot of main stays in my routine, as when I find something that works I'm like a mule when it comes to changing things up. With my dry skin, this is especially important when I find a makeup routine that works.

For my dry skin, L'Oreal Lumi Magique Foundation just works. I don't know what it is, perhaps that it feels quite nourishing when I apply it? A light layer of this teamed with the Maybelline Fit Me Powder (something that hasn't left my vanity dresser since purchase) and Soap & Glory Glow All Out for a little radiance. A quick dab of Collection 2000 Concealer in all the troublesome places and buff it in with a Real Techniques Buffing Brush for real staying power.

This is the point where I pop on a little Caudalie Lip Conditioner to soften my lips ready for when I put my lip products on. I picked it up at my local Lloyds chemist only a month ago and it's nearly all gone!

A quick contour with my go to bronzer MAC Pro Longwear Bronzing Powder in Sun Dipped does wonders for my non existent cheekbones, but not so good for my heart when I know I hit pan a while back and have not found a replacement. Using a Real Techniques Blush Brush I apply NARS Orgasm to add a pinch of colour.

I tend to keep eyes bare when I wear a bold lip, so a few coats of Maybelline The Rocket Volum' Express Mascara is all I need to really draw focus where it's needed. Shape and fill sparse brows with the Urban Decay Brow Box in Brown Sugar, moving onto the darker of the colours for a denser, rich colour.

To finish, a solid pop of colour for the lips. I love Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Heftiest Hibiscus, it's such a wearable everyday colour. A red for those that don't think they can pull off red!

What is your favourite lip colour for Summer?

    1. Thank you Elise, it's fast become a favourite! A real orange-red that would suit most.

  2. That chubby stick is on my wishlist! Do you think that foundation would work on combination/oily skin? I would love to try it but I'm not sure. xx

    1. In the same colour? I want to get more but I can never make my mind up!

It's a very hydrating foundation but I don't see why it would be a bother for your skin type. Perhaps see if you can get a little tester of it first? It's oil free as far as I'm aware. :)

    2. Yup, in the same colour! But I have no idea when I'll be able to afford Clinique haha, I need a job first!

I'll see if I can get a sample at a Sephora, thank you :) x

    3. Definitely try and get a sample if you can. I think the chubby sticks are pretty reasonable.

  6. Love this! Vury pretty. I've been going for quite neutral lips this summer which is a bit 'crazy' (really not) but I'm liking a goldy orange shimmery eye so I feel like going more subtle on the lips.

It's a wonderful newbie red, I'd recommend it to anyone that's not confident with reds. I need to get See Sheer for myself since I posted that off, it looked so lovely!

  22. I love the Rocket and am using the waterproof kind, but having a really hard time taking it off. Do you have any suggestions for removing it easily (and not too expensively)?

    1. Hi lovely! I don't use the waterproof kind so not sure just how difficult it is at getting off. All I can recommend is a good heavy duty purely eye makeup remover that's targeted at waterproof makeup. My issue is that I don't ever wear any, so I can't recommend one. Sorry sweety!
