Clinique Chubby Stick in Heftiest Hibiscus

Chubby Stick Intense in Heftiest Hibiscus | www.latenightnonsense.com

It's been a while since I've been so excited by a lip colour that I didn't wait to photograph it before trying it out. I'd wanted a Clinique Chubby Stick in my collection since they launched, but I always found the colours slightly too light and watery.

On a recent visit to Bicester Village I was swatching some lip colours when I came across the Clinique Chubby Stick Intense range. After trying out the heftiest Hibiscus shade on my hand, I knew I had to have it. At £11.25 I found it reasonable for a product of this type, more so than I have with a few frivolous purchases recently.

On application, the formula is intensely moisturising, rich and creamy as well as being highly pigmented. This stick is packed full of mango and shea butters, so the smoothing qualities will do wondrous things to your lips. For something touted as a 'lip balm', the colour pay off is huge which came as a pleasant surprise and the bold cherry colour transfers so easily while lasting longer than any lip balm I've ever tried. I'm not entirely sure if this is down to the red staining the lips or some other magical Clinique secret, but I'm converted!

Have you got a Clinique Chubby Stick in your makeup drawer?

  1. I've been tempted to buy a Clinique Chubby Stick a couple of times now. They're quite reasonably priced, but I just don't know if I'll wear it enough to be worth it.
Who knows what's going to happen next time I go to a Clinique counter though... ;)

    1. I think the Intense range is worth the cash, the regular Chubby Sticks look a little too watered down for my taste, but I may never have swatched a good colour on me yet! You should totally have a Clinique day to test them out. ;)

  2. Ever since I saw this specific color in a Tanya Burr video tutorial I've been interested to know what it's like. I own a regular chubby stick in oversized orange & I loved it. ALready need a new one.

  3. I've always wanted to get a clinque chubby stick. Almost got the limited edition purple one a couple of months back but turns out they were out of stock. I think I got sidetracked for a moment with the Revlon JBKLP but now I'm really wanting this again! xx

    1. I'm on a purple kick, what did the colour come out like?

The Revlon ones are so long-wearing, I swatched some a while back and found it very difficult to shift!

    2. Honestly I cant remember but it was so pretty! It surprised me as I was quite hesitant to try it out because while I love purple I just dont know how to wear the color

    3. Purple isn't the easiest at the best of times. I've got a purple blush that I haven't even touch for months as it slightly scares me in the pack!

  8. I had no idea Clinique had brought these out in an Intense range! I have two colours from the normal range and I love the formulation of them as they are so much more hydrating than the Revlon lip crayons. I'll definitely have to try one of these out as well!

    1. I thoroughly recommend it, such an easy colour to wear and you can make it darker or lighter depending on how you like to wear it.

  13. I got my first chubby stick a few years ago on a random trip to sephora when I was looking for something that wasn't TOO pricey-- I have the cherry shade and at first I didn't really care for it, but now it's one of my favorite lip products & I'm constantly debating picking up another shade-- I can just never decide on which one to get!

    1. They're just so moisturising, aren't they? The colour is much more pigmented than I first thought too.
